How To Organise Your Art Ideas in Notion
I have been using Notion to organise my drawing ideas and my art business for the longest time and I also have been promising you a Notion tour for well over a year so it’s about time I show you how I get organised.
I’ve made some major upgrades to my Notion planner and added lots of resources to it so that I can share it with you all and help you with your own creativity, so the template is available in my Etsy shop if you want to use it for yourself, and you can watch the video at the bottom of this page for a full tour.
Or, you can build your own planner using the same format!
Here are the 7 things that I like to organise in my planner:
Art I’ve Made
I’ve started casually tracking the art that I’ve created so that I have somewhere that I can see it all in one place. It’s a nice reminder of what I’ve achieved so far this year!
Projects
This is where I plan the projects I’m working on, mostly for my art business. Things like picture books, content and art projects all get written down and added to a calendar so that I don’t miss anything important. It also helps me see when I’m overcommitting to things 🙈
Drawing Ideas
I always love having a place where I can write down ideas ahead of time, so that if I’m ever stuck for something to draw I have a long list of prompts to pull from! My own art planner comes with lots of drawing ideas ready to inspire you.
Tutorials & Resources
Saving links to helpful tutorials to either rewatch or save for later means that I always have great resources on hand when I’m in the mood for learning.
Inspiration
I love a good moodboard, so I save images for art inspiration as another way to come up with drawing ideas. Sometimes a written prompt isn’t sparking any ideas, so having visual inspiration available is a nice backup.
Art Challenges
There are lots of art challenges on social media, or sometimes I challenge myself to do my own, so I have a section in my planner for art challenges that I can tick off as I go.
Art I Want To Make
I usually have a lot of drawing ideas or art projects that I want to work on, and sometimes it becomes hard to know what to prioritise. That’s why I made a page in my planner to organise those ideas and get them all written down so that I can choose which ones I want to do first and which ones I can do a bit later.
